Music has been a central part of Christina’s life and home from her earliest memories. She remembers listening and watching her mother play daily throughout her childhood and teen years along with the excitement of learning the first tune on the piano at just a few years old, with formal lessons starting at the age of eight. Making music has always been a joy, a way to be challenged and grow, and a way to express.
“Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.” (Berthold Auerbach)
Over the years Christina has continued to share her love of music in a variety of settings and styles - piano solo, choir accompanist, school band, jazz ensemble, church pianist, playing at personal care home church services. Each experience has helped shape her into the musician she is today and instilled a desire to pass on the joy of music to others!
“Music acts like a magic key, to which the most tightly closed heart opens.” (Maria von Trapp)
Christina has taught piano for over 19 years, currently from her home studio in the northeast corner of Winnipeg. She enjoys working with all ages and tailors lessons to the learning style and goals of each individual student. Christina has completed the Associate ARCT diploma program in Piano Pedagogy through Royal Conservatory of Music.. She is actively involved in professional development and a registered music teacher through the Manitoba Registered Music Teachers' Association. She aims to make learning to play the piano accessible and enjoyable for everyone who enters her studio!
In addition to teaching and playing the piano, Christina enjoys baking, traveling & camping (in her teeny tiny tear-drop camper), cross-stitching and hanging out with her husband, two daughters and dog Chica.
